Compass Hospitality to Manage 116 Room Beachfront Hotel & Spa in UK

Compass Hospitality has signed its latest property in the UK with the Crown Spa Hotel in Scarborough. The beachfront hotel will be the 12th property to join Compass Hospitality’s growing UK collection, and will be the first to feature on-site spa facilities.

The Crown Spa Hotel continues a healthy succession of strategic portfolio development in the UK, and signifies a sustained commitment to expanding the company’s presence in the UK. In addition to the 12 properties under management in the UK, Compass Hospitality operates a reputable portfolio of both branded and white label products in Thailand and Malaysia. The company’s full set of properties under management total to 44 and is set to grow further across both regions with headquarter offices in Bangkok and Manchester.

The Crown Spa Hotel is located just metres away from South Bay Beach, offering attractive sea views to select rooms. The hotel further benefits from a combined proximity to both the beach and town centre, and is within walking distance from Scarborough Railway Station as well the popular Scarborough Harbour. Additional hotel facilities include a European restaurant, luxury leisure centre and complimentary on-site parking.

The hotel houses 116 rooms spread over 4 floors, and is contemporarily furnished throughout to a 4-star specification. Room types vary in furnishing and offer double beds ranging from king to super king sizes, twin room types as well as a small number of single rooms. Rooms are also available with four poster beds and can be booked by special request. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also provided throughout the hotel, including meeting and spa areas.

The Crown Spa Health Club boasts comprehensive fitness and recreational facilities, and has recently been named the UK’s 3rd best health club by the Flame Awards. The health club offers fully qualified, trained and registered fitness professionals that complement the state of the art fitness suite and studio. The health club’s facilities include a gymnasium, aerobics studio, steam and sauna rooms, a 20ft hot tub and 40ft indoor pool, beauty salon, spa and massage facilities.

As Scarborough’s only 4-star hotel, The Crown Spa Hotel is well positioned to suit a diverse set of hospitality needs. Beyond the numerous facilities and services, the hotel is well-appointed to cater for both leisure and business travellers. Meeting facilities include 7 dedicated rooms equipped for various meetings or events, and can host up to 260 delegates.

The professional team working on the acquisition has been Brodies Solicitors based in Edinburgh and accountants Edwards Veeder and the debt finance through AIB’s Birmingham Office.
