Compass Hospitality and Taylor’s University launch an innovative General Manager Program

Compass Hospitality embarks upon assisting Taylor University’s programme in Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (TCHT). With the formation of a strategic collaboration programme between three hotel partners and Taylor’s University, a foreseeable outcome of graduates will emerge from a newly emerged curriculum called the “General Manager Programme” (GeM). 

Located in the emerging city of Selangor, Malaysia, Taylor’s University is the most popular private college in Malaysia and has produced a total of 69,000 graduates so far. The programme shall coach students and offer hands on approach upon the development of becoming a General Manager. The GeM is a comprehensive management and leadership programme focusing upon applying the key competencies to becoming a successful General Manager. Mr. Harmil Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Compass Hospitality claims that “Compass Hospitality has always been supportive of educational and training initiatives in the hospitality industry, and over the years, our Compass Scholarship Foundation has been transforming such initiatives into reality for many students and adults. The GeM programme is collaboration between Compass and Taylor’s University to improve the knowledge of participants so that they can effectively deal with new market challenges as well as raise the bar of hospitality standards and performance in their service to customers”. With the intention of enhancing prospective graduates, Compass’s involvement in the General Manager program shall abridge any possible obstacles, subsequently creating greener pastures for Taylor’s apprentices.
