Compass Hospitality gives financial support to heart boy
On Monday April 7 (2014), the New Straits Times in Malaysia wrote an article to appeal for an urgent MYR 28,000 donation to undergo heart surgery for a month-old baby. Baby Tarakeshwar Ganesan was born with pulmonary atresia with ventricular septum, an undeveloped right heart valve that obstructs blood flow from the heart to the lung.
The article caught the attention of Harmil Singh, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Compass Hospitality Group and contacted the father of the baby through the help of New Straits Times. On April 9, the sum of MYR 28,000 was transferred for onward payment for the surgery and medical care of Tarakeshwar. The baby recovered well after the surgery and was transferred out from the intensive care unit to a normal ward.
